Bayless High School Concert Choir
Happy New Year! We are gearing up for our contest performance at Lindbergh High School.  The students have worked very hard on learning our prepared pieces, and gearing up for the sight reading part of contest.  We will be attending MHSAA music festival on March 9th and are hoping to bring back a I rating which means Superior!

Unfortunately due to lack of interest we will not be going to San Antonio anymore. We will be issuing refunds as soon as possible.

Entertainment books are now on sale for $20. These books are a great opportunity to save some money at local establishments. All the proceeds go into the students account or to help us by new robes for the choir!

 Bayless Jr. High Choirs
Welcome to Bayless Choir. This is an excellent opportunity to work together with your fellow classmates to sing and learn about music. In class we learn about the fundamentals of reading music and of course selections for our concerts.  The 2nd concert will be on May 4th at 7pm in the auditorium all are welcome.  Bayless Jr. High Music Appreciation

In Music Appreciation we learn about the history of western music.  We begin with chant and work our way to modern American styles such as Rock and Roll and Rap.  Currently we are working on the Middle Ages through the Baroque Eras with an section on the instruments as well.

Currently we just started our first unit over the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque Eras.  We also had a unit on instruments. We will start on the Classical, Romantic and 20th century music next.


Bayless High School Music Appreciation II

In Music Appreciation II we focus on the American style of Music Jazz.  We start at Jazz's humble beginnings in New Orleans and lead up to today's exciting Jazz scene.  This course offers plenty of listening examples and class work that facility the learning of the true American Music in a fun and
exciting way!

We have just started our first unit on Jazz's beginning.  We will continue our study on Jazz greats and more modern styles later.
 Bayless High School Performance Choir
I am pleased to announce that Bayless High School now has an official class for the Performance Choir!  This class focuses on not only singing but also performing while singing. We focus on dancing and cooperating with each other to choreograph our songs. We will be performing our "Set" for a competition in the future on February 13th!

We have just completed our first performance for the Bayless Alumni Association on Sunday Oct. 4th.  It was a huge success and all who attendened were greatly entertained.  Several alumni commented that this is one of the best performance groups that they have seen in a long time! They were proud to call Bayless home.
